Helping You Understand Medicare
Health insurance can be difficult to understand, especially when it comes to Medicare.
Each day brings more mail, advertisements, and offers with different Medicare options. Billboards and commercials may highlight extra benefits like a Medicare grocery allowance or Medicare enhanced plan, but those plans are not always the best fit for your needs.
With so much information, and often misinformation, it is easy to enroll in a policy that does not meet your healthcare needs. We also help you understand topics such as qualified Medicare beneficiary (QMB) programs, Medicare ASP pricing, or how to use tools like the Medicare LCD and Medicare coverage database to make informed decisions.
Our team helps families sort through the confusion so they can make informed decisions and feel confident about how Medicare fits into their retirement plan.
What Coverage Do You Need?
We work to understand your needs and find the Medicare coverage that fits your individual situation. We can help you with every aspect of Medicare planning, including:
Medicare Advantage Plans: Sometimes called “Part C,” or “Advantage Plans,” Medicare Advantage Plans are offered by private companies approved by Medicare. Medicare pays these companies to cover your Medicare benefits. If you’re comparing an original Medicare plan vs. a Medicare plus or Medicare enhanced plan, we’ll help you understand which option makes sense for your goals.
Medicare Supplement “Medigap” Policies: A Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policy helps pay some of the healthcare costs that Original Medicare doesn’t cover, like:
- Copayments
- Coinsurance
- Deductibles
Medigap policies are sold by private companies.
Medicare Part D: Also called the Medicare prescription drug benefit, Medicare Part D is an optional United States federal-government program to help Medicare beneficiaries pay for self-administered prescription drugs through prescription drug insurance premiums. We’ll also show you how to sign up for Medicare Part D, or if you’re wondering “how do I apply for Medicare Part D?” our advisors can walk you through the steps.
Long-Term Care: Long-term care (LTC) insurance is coverage that provides nursing-home care, home-health care, personal or adult day care for individuals above the age of 65 or with a chronic or disabling condition that needs constant supervision. LTC insurance offers more flexibility and options than many public assistance programs. For families asking, “Does Medicare pay for assisted living?” or “How much does Medicare cover for assisted living?” — our team will explain what Medicare covers and when additional long-term care coverage may be needed.
Hospital Indemnity: Hospital Indemnity insurance, also called Hospitalization insurance or Hospital insurance, is a plan that pays you benefits when you are confined to a hospital, whether for planned or unplanned reasons, or for other medical services, depending on the policy. This may coordinate with your Medicare plan or qualified Medicare beneficiary benefits.
Final Expense: Final expense insurance (or burial insurance) is a policy that is used to pay for burial expenses and funeral services to ease the financial burden placed on a family in the event the named insured dies. The features of a final expense insurance policy include: No medical exam required.
